Housing is a requirement to secure a work permit. If you are coming to the Falklands for a Government job that has been advertised overseas, the Government will provide you with a fully-furnished property. Rental rates for Government properties are subsidised and range between £500 per month for a one-bedroom property, to £1000 per month for a four-bedroom property
Rental rates in the private market tend to be double of Government properties, and it can be difficult to find suitable properties. If you are applying for a job in the private sector, it is advisable to enquire about housing at an early stage in the process. Some employers will provide housing for you, or assist you in securing housing, while others will not.
