The Falklands are home to a very diverse society.
The breadth of this multiculturalism is truly from A to Z – from Australia to Zimbabwe – making the multicultural mosaic of the Falkland Islands something to truly be proud of.
The most recent census showed that people from around the globe have made the Islands their home.
Out of the 3,662 residents of the Islands, those interviewed pointed to 71 separate countries of origin – a staggering level of diversity for such a small community.
We cherish our multiculturalism and celebrate it in many ways.
We hold events such as The Falkland Islands Multicultural Day, which involves cultural activities and includes the preparation of national dishes from a wide range of countries: a fantastic reminder of our global heritage and international culture.
