Falkland Islands students who continue in education at 16 normally move to the UK for 2 years to take A levels or equivalent qualifications. For children who have been at school in the Falklands for at least 3 years the costs of study abroad may be sponsored by the Falkland Islands Government. Parents with children coming up to 16 years old are encouraged to ask about this in advance of relocating to the Falklands.

Falkland College offers a range of vocational courses, NVQs, English as Second Language classes and distance learning support. It also runs post-16 apprenticeships for young people with Falkland Island status.
